Info for Saturday and Other Important Info
Hello Team,
Sorry for the length of this message, but there is a lot of information below please ready it carefully.
Manchester - March 6th:
Those wanting to go to Manchester on Saturday March 6th and need a ride to the event please email Kush (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) before Friday afternoon, so that we can provide the necessarily transportation. We will be leaving at 7:30am from the High School- Gym Entrance. We will stay at the event to watch some matches and walk around the pits. We hope to leave before the Finals start in order to come home at a reasonable time.
Information Gathering Team (“Spying”):
For the upcoming Baltimore trip, those wishing to take part in the “Spy” information gathering team need to inform Kush (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) before next Monday’s meeting, so that Pit assignments can be arranged. Each student will NOT be assigned a series of team to research, instead the “Spy” team will take care of all these, in order to keep the information consistent.
Pit Duties:
Pit duties will be run differently this year as opposed to previous years. Each student will be assigned a half a day slot in the pit, giving six rotations of students though the pit during the entire competition. Student on the information gathering team will not be assigned pit duties. We would like to keep the pit relatively clear, meaning that if you are not assigned to pit duty please don’t crowd our 10ft x 10ft area (it is small when all the tool and robot are in place). If you are needed to repair the robot we will find you.
With the extra time given to team members this year, we would like them to make the time productive. We encourage all team members (mentors and students) to talk with other teams, learn from them, and make friendships. Students please try to get the mentors out of the pit to take part in the entire competition atmosphere. Feel free to look/take pictures of other team’s robot design, trade buttons, and other trinkets. There also needs to be a team presence in the stands to cheer our team and other teams on during the event to show team spirit.
Drive & Navigators & Coaches- Oh My!:
Lastly the drive teams have been decided. We have taken account information gathered during the entire build season, such as communication, knowledge of the rules, ability to work under pressure, respect of others, etc.. The Drive Team represent the entire team on the field, they are the people most in contact with other teams at the event. Drivers for Baltimore are Greg G.. and Osi V.(Whistler), navigators are Tyler M.(Supe) and Paula F., human players are Zack K. and Derek B.(Dustpan). Kush and Tsom will be the two Coaches at Baltimore.
As always if there are any questions please email Raj (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) or Tsom (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address))
Go Team!
